Ray Lee Goodwin Jr. never did win the Nationals like his celebrated father, but he was a winner at the dirt circles in Nebraska too. I've always been more impressed by that. Not taking a thing away from the original Ray Lee, but Raymond was always leaning on his belts before my very eyes every week. He ran as hard as he could on every lap and picked up a nice share of trophies. Listed from Polo, MO in the program, the Kansas City native drove north to race for us every summer Sunday night since 1983...the year he was crowned the Track's Rookie of the Year.

More on Ray Lee Goodwin Jr. coming soon!
